About
The City Flea is a place for the city's countless creative minds and skilled hands to share what they are working on or collecting. The flea serves as a venue for social interaction amongst the already burgeoning local community of entrepreneurs, artists, and enthusiasts. It is a new common space for city dwellers who are strolling after brunch, walking the dog, thirsty for coffee, hungry for lunch, on their way to Findlay Market, or just looking for someplace to hang out. It gives people from areas surrounding the city a unique urban experience and opens their eyes to what is going on around town. The goods will speak for themselves once the eyes have arrived.
History
The City Flea is the project of couple from Cincinnati who have lived in Chicago, Los Angeles, and most recently New York and picked up some inspiration along the way. Whether it be by browsing through vintage clothing, band posters, handcrafted goodness or sipping coffee along with something yummy to eat from food trucks and other artisan style foods, The City Flea aims to change what the term "flea market" means to everyone who sets foot within its boundaries.
On June 4th 2011 The City Flea sprang into action and the first 45 vendors 'delivered the goods' leaving people hungry for more. About 70 vendors sold over the course of the first summer season and now season two is about to kick off with an even bigger badder and better group of creatives.
The Flea sprouted after its creators moved back to the Queen City and saw first hand that the city is now teeming with creativity, energy, and people who are excited about selling, shopping, and staying local.
Bring your friends, bring a few bucks, and most importantly, just bring it.
